The House
The House
The House of ADAR was conceived through the sustained dialogue between two creators who work under the identities of The Light and The Dark.
For many years its output remained the exclusive preserve of a small circle of private collectors. Bespoke creations, commissioned and acquired at the level of fine art, were held in collections where fragrance and sculptural form existed as one indivisible whole. The year 2025 marked not the founding of a house, but the moment chosen to make a considered selection of that accumulated body of work available to a wider audience for the first time.
The nine compositions that now constitute the first public collection are arranged in three conceptual trilogies. One explores the precarious equilibrium between opposing forces. Another turns its attention inward, to questions of cognition, spiritual pursuit and ancestral inheritance. The third concerns itself with protection, elemental power and the boundary between the material and the transcendent.
Several of these works incorporate ideas, materials and refinements first developed in private commissions several years earlier.
At the heart of the House lies the absolute integration of fragrance and sculptural object. Each bottle is individually hand-crafted from monobloc marble, natural stone, fine woods, resins or metal, finished entirely by hand and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
The creative tension between The Light and The Dark informs every composition: one impulse drawn toward the luminous and ethereal, the other toward depth, shadow and intensity.
All core formulas are developed in-house by Dan and Roxana Adar. The House also collaborates with a strictly limited number of master perfumers whose standards align with its own, among them :Antoie Lie Master Perfumer , the Portuguese nose Miguel Matos and the Italian nose and perfumer Manuel Attardi. Some choose to remain unnamed for the present.
Every creation contains the mystery note — an intentional, undisclosed element that remains perceptible yet defies precise identification.
Production is deliberately constrained to micro-batches ranging from 53 to 240 individually numbered pieces, released only when both material and creative intent are in complete alignment.
Distribution is maintained at the highest level of selectivity, through the official website and a handful of partners who understand the nature of the work. Decanting and unauthorised resale are not permitted. Each sealed bottle remains a complete artistic statement.
